TOPEKA (KSNT) — Community members were honored Thursday for their efforts to support children and families impacted by abuse.
The LifeHouse Child Advocacy Center recognized its “LifeHouse Heroes”—individuals who help raise funds and advocate for the nonprofit’s mission to serve vulnerable children across the community.
LifeHouse provides a safe, supportive environment for children as they go through interviews regarding abuse they have experienced or witnessed. The organization also connects families with essential resources, helping them begin the healing process after trauma.

“It’s an honor to be a LifeHouse Hero,” said LifeHouse Hero Jared Holroyd. “We need to be able to help break that cycle of violence and that cycle of sexual violence, and so this is a really great opportunity to be able to do that and support an organization that does that and again, helps some of the most vulnerable Kansans and Topekans that we have.”
The event highlighted the impact of those honored — while bringing the community together to support continued healing and advocacy for children in need of support.
