TOPEKA (KSNT) – A local grocery store chain is bringing back a discount day for older shoppers this week.
Sheila Regehr with the grocery store chain Dillons announced in a press release that it is bringing back its discounted shopping day for older adults on Wednesday, May 6. Eligible customers can get 10% off eligible in-store grocery and everyday essential purchases at Dillons stores on this day. Dillons recently hosted one of these discounted shopping days a month prior on April 6.
People must be 55 years old or older to get the offer. Regehr said customers can obtain the special one-day discount by making a request while at checkout and no coupon is necessary.
Why is the Gage Park mini-train closed in Topeka?
“Dillons is committed to helping customers stretch their budgets while still enjoying fresh, affordable food,” Regehr said. “We know every dollar matters, especially for seniors living on a budget, and Senior Day is one more way we can help customers 55 and older save on the groceries and household essentials they need most with 10% off eligible purchases for one day only.”
Dillons is offering the discount on grocery and household essentials including produce, pantry staples and other everyday items. The discount will not apply to things like alcohol, tobacco, fuel, lottery, money orders, postage stamps, gift cards, promotional tickets, prescriptions, taxes and certain fees.
