TOPEKA (KSNT) – Healthcare professionals and teachers are getting some special recognition in May for the services they provide to the community.
Teacher Appreciation Week runs from Monday, May 4 to Friday, May 8 in 2026 while National Nurses Week runs from Wednesday, May 6 to Tuesday, May 12. Several businesses are offering special deals to healthcare workers and educators across Kansas during these time frames.
McAlister’s Deli
Participating locations for McAlister’s Deli are offering both nurses and teachers one free sweet or unsweet tea this year. The offer runs from May 4 through to May 8 for those who show a valid educator or medical ID at checkout. You can learn more about this offer by clicking here.

Whataburger is offering teachers and school staff a free “Breakfast on a Bun” from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 7. This consists of a honey butter chicken biscuit or a breakfast taquito with a valid school ID.

Chipotle
Chipotle is offering both healthcare professionals and teachers a special sweepstakes promotion from April 28 to May 12 this year. At the end of its promotional period, Chipotle will distribute to 100,000 teachers and 100,000 healthcare professionals “Burrito E-Cards” that give the user access to one free regular menu entrée item. Kansas Children’s Discovery Center
The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center is inviting people to stop by from Saturday, May 2 to Sunday, May 10 to share their favorite stories and memories at the Caring Tree of past or current educators. Teachers will also get a 10% discount in the Discovery Shop for the same time duration.
