TOPEKA (KSNT) – Cincinnati rallies in the eighth to secure a comeback win.
Despite a two-run lead in the eighth, Kansas State (26-24, 9-17 Big 12) would drop Game 2 to Cincinnati (35-17, 15-11 Big 12), 5-3 on Saturday, May 9.
The Bearcats would put up a big eighth-inning performance to take their first lead of the game. Cincy recorded four runs on five hits, with the help of a three-run homer that secured the go-ahead run.
Lincoln Sheffield allowed just one run of five hits over 7 1/3 innings pitched with six strikeouts.

K-State grabbed the lead first in the third inning off a Cadyn Karl solo home run. The Wildcats extended their lead to 3-1 after Bear Madliak doubled in the seventh, and then Grant Gallagher hit a sacrifice fly to bring the ‘Cats third run of the game in.
The Wildcats will look to avoid the series sweep on Sunday, May 10. First pitch is set for 11 a.m.
