Areas of clouds and a slight chance for a stray shower will linger this morning. The better chance for rain has already moved out of the area, leaving us with a warm and mainly dry day ahead. Temperatures will climb through the day as the sky gradually become less cloudy.
The start of the work week will bring a surge of heat, with temperatures climbing into the upper 90s Monday and Tuesday. Heat index values may reach 105° both days. The wind will remain south/southwesterly and breezy, gusting up to 25mph both Monday and Tuesday.
The heat won’t last all week for all areas, as a cold front is expected to move into the region by the end of the week, bringing temperatures back into the 80s and lower 90s near/north of the front by the end of the week. Areas south of the front will be hotter, so we’ll be watching the front’s position closely throughout the week.
