What We’re Tracking
- More heat still ahead this week
- Several days of sunshine
- Front slides into the area by the weekend
Warm and muggy weather tonight with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures will struggle to cool below 80° by morning.
More heat tomorrow with temperatures climbing into the upper 90s to lower 100s. Heat index values may reach 105° during the afternoon once again. Much of the area will be under an Extreme Heat Warning for much of the week. The wind will remain south/southwesterly at 10-15mph each day, as well.
The heat won’t last all the way through the weekend for all areas, as a cold front is expected to move into the region by the end of the week, bringing temperatures back into the 80s and lower 90s near/north of the front by the end of the week. Areas south of the front will be hotter, so we’ll be watching the front’s position closely throughout the weekend.
