Warm and muggy weather this morning with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures have stayed in the lower to middle 80s for many locations.
More heat this afternoon with temperatures climbing into the upper 90s to lower 100s. Heat index values may reach 110° during the afternoon once again. Much of the area will be under an Extreme Heat Warning for much of the week. The wind will remain south/southwesterly at 10-15mph each day, as well.
The heat won’t last all the way through the weekend for all areas, as a cold front is expected to move into the region by the end of the week, bringing temperatures back into the 80s and lower 90s near/north of the front by the end of the week. Areas south of the front will be hotter, so we’ll be watching the front’s position closely throughout the weekend.
