Warm and muggy weather this morning with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures have struggled to drop out of the 80s. We are watching some isolated showers, but the better chance for rain arrives later tonight for our northern and northwestern counties.
More heat today with temperatures climbing into the upper 90s to lower 100s. Heat index values may reach 105° during the afternoon once again. Much of the area will be under an Extreme Heat Warning for rest of the week. The wind will remain south/southwesterly at 10-15mph each day, as well.
The heat won’t last all the way through the weekend for all areas, as a cold front is expected to move into the region by the end of the week, bringing temperatures back into the 80s and lower 90s near/north of the front by the end of the week. Areas south of the front will be hotter, so we’ll be watching the front’s position closely throughout the weekend.
