TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Hornets continue to build momentum entering the 2026 campaign.
The Emporia State volleyball team was picked to finish fourth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
The Hornets also received two first-place votes.
ESU is coming off a 21-7 season (12-4 MIAA) and received votes in the AVCA poll.
Per ESU Athletics, Emporia State enters the 2026 season with six players who played in 25 or more matches last season, including three who played in 101 or all 102 sets in 2025.
The Hornets are in action for the first time on Thursday, Aug 27, competing at the Ferris State Tournament in Big Rapids, Michigan.
Emporia State opens with Minnesota State at 3 p.m.
