TOPEKA (KSNT) — The Lady Hornets opened up the season with a draw.
At the 18 minute mark in the first half, Megan Kephart would open up the scoring to put Emporia State up 1-0. Avery Zimmerman would tally up a point on the assist.
In the 83rd minute, Drury’s Melissa Higgins would knock in a heartbreaker to tie the game.
Neither side would add on in the final seven minutes of the match, as the team’s tied, 1-1.
The Lady Hornets are back in action Saturday at 11 a.m. when they host No. 21 Maryville at home.
