TOPEKA (KSNT) – The ‘Hawks have officially selected their QB1.
Isaiah Marshall was named Kansas’ starting quarterback, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Wednesday afternoon.
Marshall, a redshirt sophomore, made nine appearances for the Jayhawks in 2025, going 3-for-3 in the air with 28 yards. On the ground, Marshall rushed 15 times for 160 total yards.
Competing with Marshall for the top spot was redshirt junior Cole Ballard. Ballard saw action in 15 total games in his three seasons at Kansas, with eight in the 2025 season. He was 10-for-22 with 108 yards and a touchdown last season, while completing 15 carries for 92 yards.
Kansas football will open up it’s season on Sept. 4 against LIU. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
