TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Ichabods remain undefeated after the opening weekend.
No. 4 Washburn soccer (1-0-1) battled to a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon against No. 9 University of Missouri- St. Louis in a top-10 matchup.
Washburn found the back of the net first in the fourth minute courtesy of Bricelyn Betts. It was her first goal of the season and was assisted by Mackinly Rohn.
It appeared the Ichabods would hold on for a one-goal win until the Tritons equalized in the 85th minute with a goal from Josie Maddox.
Washburn outshot UMSL 18-10 including 10 shots on target to seven.
The Ichabods stay at home on Wednesday, Sept. 2 for a game with Drury. First kick set for 6 p.m.
