TOPEKA (KSNT) — A 4-0 start to the season for the Ichabods.
No. 8 Washburn volleyball (4-0) closed the opening weekend of the season with a 3-1 win (25-17, 23-25, 25-12, 25-22) against Westminster at the Washburn Invitational.
Washburn and Westminster split the opening two sets before the Ichabods won set three and four to secure the win.
Emma Siron and Hayden Meats had a team-high 13 kills each for the Ichabods in the win. Brynne Topolski added 11.
Avery Willey had 16 digs while Shannon Frakes and Siron had 15 each.
The Ichabods take their undefeated start into Sioux Falls, S.D., for the Sioux Falls Classic beginning on Sept. 3.
Washburn will open with Black Hills State University on Thursday at 4 p.m.
