The former Kansas Jayhawk made the most out of an undrafted opportunity.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to go with Jalon Daniels as their backup quarterback this season, per ESPN. Daniels will play behind Baker Mayfield.
After an impressive training camp and preseason game showing, the Buccaneers will keep Daniels on their 53-man roster and release veteran Jake Browning, who signed a one-year deal with the team earlier this year.
The former Jayhawk appeared in all three preseason games for Tampa Bay, where he completed 61.4% of his passes for 239 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 37 yards and a touchdown.
