Yesterday, Topeka reached 102°, marking the first time we’ve hit the triple-digit mark since August 26, 2024.
Today will be another hot day, with highs once again reaching the triple digits. We’re sitting beneath a strong ridge of high pressure, allowing a heat dome to remain overhead. As a result, we’ll see a week of hot temperatures and dry weather.
Overnight lows will only fall into the upper 70s this week, leading to warm starts each morning. Dew points will also gradually increase as we move through the week, bringing more humidity back to the area. We’re tracking a stretch of upper 90s through much of the week, well above average for late August and early September.
