TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Ichabods are moving up the polls.
Washburn volleyball (4-0) has moved up to No. 6 in the AVCA poll following the hot start to the season. The Ichabods moved up two spots after going 4-0 at the Washburn Invitational against Oklahoma Christian (3-1), Arkansas Tech (3-0), William Jewell (3-1) and Westminster (3-1).
Washburn is the highest-ranked MIAA team, with Nebraska-Kearney (3-1) dropping to No. 8 while Missouri Western (4-0) sits at No. 11. Central Oklahoma (3-1) is No. 15 and Central Missouri (2-2) is at No. 25.
Washburn now hits the road to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for the Sioux Falls Classic beginning on Thursday, Sept. 3. The Ichabods will open the classic against Black Hills State at 4 p.m.
