TOPEKA (KSNT) — After a scoreless first half the Ichabods dominated in the second.
No. 23 Washburn defeated Drury 3-0 Wednesday night in a non-conference matchup at Yager Stadium.
Despite the ‘Bods eight shot first half, Washburn was unable to strike the back of the net.
The second half was a different story. In the 52nd minute, Chloe Kolm found Leah Henke for the Ichabods’ first goal of the night. Then, just three minutes later, Washburn added another goal — this time off a corner kick by Mackinly Rohn that resulted in an own goal.
Just 19 seconds later, the ‘Bods would score their third goal of the night, and Henke would connect with Brynn Allison to score her second goal of the night.
The Ichabods had a 7-1 shots-on-goal advantage on the night.
Washburn head to Arkansas next for two matches. First, on Sept. 11 against Ouachita Baptist and then Harding on Sept. 13.
