TOPEKA (KSNT) – State troopers report one person is seriously hurt after a Wednesday morning crash on Highway 24.
The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) said the crash occurred at 8 a.m. on Sept. 2 in the westbound lanes on Highway 24 just west of where it intersects with Kaw Valley Road. The KHP said the crash involved four vehicles: a 2016 Honda HRV, a 2006 Subaru Tribeca, a 2020 Ford Transit and a 2024 Ford Explorer.
The KHP said all four vehicles were traveling west on the highway at the time of the crash. The driver of the Subaru started to slow down and the driver of the Honda, who was following too close behind the Subaru, hit it. Due to this collision, the Subaru hit the Ford Transit which then hit the Ford Explorer.
Medical personnel transported one occupant of the Honda, a 77-year-old Topeka man, to a local hospital for treatment of his serious injuries. All other drivers involved in the crash were uninjured, according to the KHP. Every individual involved in the crash wore a seatbelt.
