WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — KTAG users can now drive farther with a single transponder.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority announced Thursday that this week, KTAG became compatible with more tolling agencies across the country, part of a push to expand access for Kansas drivers.
KTAG now works with 19 toll agencies in multiple states, including several new toll systems:
- Illinois Tollway
- Indiana Toll Road
- Pennsylvania Turnpike
- North Carolina Turnpike

These agencies include members of the E‑ZPass network, giving KTAG customers access to one of the largest tolling systems in the country. More E‑ZPass agencies are expected to join as they complete required technology upgrades.
“KTAG has long been a leader in toll interoperability,” KTA CEO Steve Hewitt said in a news release. “This expansion builds on that foundation and keeps travel simple for customers moving across a growing network of toll roads.”
KTAG users don’t need to update or replace their device. The new compatibility is automatic, though KTA encourages customers to keep their DriveKS account details, vehicle information and payment methods up to date.

“We’re focused on making tolling simpler,” Jeri Biehler, KTA’s director of marketing and communications, said in the release. “Whether you’re commuting or taking a family vacation, KTAG keeps travel seamless across more roadways than ever.”
The turnpike authority said it will continue sharing updates as additional agencies join the network. Full lists of compatible toll roads and accepted transponders are available on the KTA website.
