CHASE COUNTY (KSNT) – State troopers report a Topeka man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash in Chase County Thursday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 on northbound I-35 near mile-marker 105. The crash involved a single vehicle, a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The KHP said the motorcyclist was traveling north on I-35 when a tire blew out, causing him to crash into a barrier wall. The motorcycle then skidded along the highway for about 100 feet before coming to a stop in a grassy area off the right shoulder.
Medical personnel transported the 26-year-old Topeka man to an Emporia hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The KHP said he was wearing protective equipment at the time of the crash.
