OSAWATOMIE (KSNT) – A hot start to the season for the Wamego flag football team.
Wamego played its first and second ever flag football games on Monday, Sept. 14, picking up back-to-back wins. The Red Raiders took on Osage City and put up a shutout, 25-0, to get the first win in program history.
Wamego followed up with a 59-0 win over the hosts Osawatomie.
Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) officially sanctioned girls’ flag football as a varsity high school sport starting with the 2026–27 school year.

According to MaxPreps, Wamego will travel to Bishop Miege on Sept. 26 for the third game of the season.
