TOPEKA (KSNT) – The City of Valley Falls has a new interim chief of police this week.
Wesley Lanter, city administrator for Valley Falls, said in a press release that Alex Batstone has been appointed as the interim chief of police for the Valley Falls Police Department. He said city leaders appointed Batstone to the position during a City Council meeting on Sept. 16.
Batstone has served in the Valley Falls Police Department as a police officer and will continue serving the community in his new leadership position. Batstone’s duties include overseeing day-to-day operations for the police department and working with city administrators and other local officials regarding law enforcement services in the local area.
Cody Spire served as the previous chief of police for the City of Valley Falls.
