TOPEKA (KSNT) – Deputies report a driver was injured following a rollover crash in southeast Shawnee County Tuesday night.
Abigail Christian with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office told 27 News the crash occurred at 7:35 p.m. on Sept. 22 in the 7800 block of Southeast Stubbs Road. Law enforcement arriving at the scene found the crash involved a single vehicle: a 2003 Saab passenger car.
Christian said the driver of the car was heading south on Southeast Stubbs Road when he reportedly saw an animal in the road and swerved to avoid it. His vehicle exited the road, entered the ditch, hit a tree and flipped over, coming to a rest on its top.
The driver, a 51-year-old man, sustained minor injuries in the crash but refused medical treatment. Christian said the crash remains under investigation.
