TOPEKA (KSNT) – Kansas transportation officials said there are two ramp changes coming to an ongoing road construction project near Topeka on Highway 24.
Kate Craft with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) said in a press release that two ramp changes are scheduled for next week in the area of the U.S. 24 Highway and K-4 Highway Interchange north of Topeka. She said this is part of the ongoing Highway 24 reconstruction project in Shawnee and Jefferson counties.
Workers will reopen the westbound Highway 24 exit ramp leading to K-4 Highway on Tuesday, Sept. 29, according to KDOT. Following this, workers will close the K-4 Highway ramp that leads to westbound Highway 24 with a projected reopening date set for December this year.
Craft said drivers can follow a detour route on Northeast 46th Street and Topeka Boulevard or use a different route while this work is ongoing.
