TOPEKA (KSNT) – A major drag racing venue south of Topeka is up for grabs again.
Real estate company Tranzon lists the International Hot Rod Association’s (IHRA) Darana-Heartland Motorsports Park on its website as being up for auction. People interested in acquiring the property must submit bids for the property by 5 p.m. CST on Nov. 15, 2026.
Additional details, such as IHRA commentary on this development, will be added to this story or in a future article after they are made available. We are reaching out to the IHRA for comment on this situation.
Tranzon staff list the park as consisting of over 620 acres of land in 29 tracts. Some tracts consist of undeveloped land around the park while others include various structures such as the racetrack and other structures that make up the racing venue.

“For more than three decades, Heartland Motorsports Park has been one of the Midwest’s most recognized motorsports destinations — home to NHRA drag racing, road course competition, and a legacy of speed that put Topeka on the map. Now, Darana Motorsports Holdings, LLC is bringing the entire 622.96± acre property to auction: a single, extraordinary opportunity to own the race park itself and its surrounding light-industrial land.”
Tranzon website excerpt
The IHRA acquired Heartland Motorsports Park at the end of 2025 from Topeka 77 LLC. IHRA officials told 27 News in March this year the organization planned to revive the racing venue for local drag racing fans.
IHRA officials held several events at Heartland Motorsports Park throughout 2026, including a major line-painting ceremony in June to mark the racing venue’s restoration. However, multiple event cancellations, including the premature end of the 2026 IHRA Nitro Drag Racing Series, prompted some racing and local officials to worry about the future of Heartland Motorsports Park.
