EMPORIA (KSNT) – The Turnpike Tussle ends in a draw.
No. 18 Washburn and Emporia State battled to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, Oct. 11.
The Hornets struck first in the 17th minute when Ella Favot found the back of the net off an assist from Taylor McFalls.
Washburn responded the next minute when Avery McCorry shot low and to the right to equalize for the Ichabods. She was assisted by Kate Hinck.
It was a 1-1 game entering the break, and neither team would find the back of the net in the second.
Washburn is back in action on Friday, Oct. 16 to host Central Oklahoma.
Emporia State will host Missouri Southern on Friday.
