TOPEKA (KSNT) – People will be able to enjoy a new nighttime light experience at a local park in Topeka through to the start of November.
Ashley Gilfillan, marketing & communications supervisor for Shawnee County Parks and Recreation (SCP+R), said in a press release that Flora Lumina: A Festival of Light is opening Oct. 12 at Ward-Meade Park/Old Prairie Town. She said the festival will remain open nightly through to Nov. 1.
Gilfillan said this is the first year for Flora Lumina and that it will add more color to the park’s grounds with large, illuminated lanterns and vibrant displays. She said visitors can explore the gardens during nighttime hours for a new fall experience at the park.
“People love Tulips at Twilight, but we wanted to bring something completely different to Old Prairie Town this fall,” said Ashley Gilfillan, marketing & communications supervisor for SCP+R. “Flora Lumina is a chance to experience the gardens in a whole new light.”
