What We’re Tracking
- Strong storms south this evening
- Periodic rain mid-week
- Chilly by late week
The cold front that is bisecting the area starts to get active later today, bringing increasing chances for scattered thunderstorms. The area is currently under a slight risk for severe weather along that cold front Tuesday evening. Some storms could become strong to severe, producing damaging wind gusts, areas of flooding and large hail.
Rain chances continue off and on through much of Wednesday and into Thursday. Along with the wetter weather comes a noticeable cool-down. High temperatures will fall into the lower 70s Wednesday before dropping back into the middle 50s by Friday!
Behind the cold front, a taste of fall returns. Several mornings later this week could start in the upper 30s, marking one of the coolest stretches we’ve seen in quite some time. Another weak system moving through on Sunday could bring us some clouds and a few showers, as well.
