LAWRENCE (KSNT) – This Kansas men’s basketball roster is deep.
With the recent homecoming of Tre White and Melvin Council Jr. following their granted injunction, the 2026-27 Kansas men’s basketball roster is complete.
With four key returners back, top transfers out of the portal that added size to the Jayhawks and the young, talented freshman class to round it out, the depth is easy to spot.
“I think, depth-wise, it stacks up pretty good,” Kansas men’s basketball head coach Bill Self told 27 Sports. “I think we’ve got a pretty deep team.”
“We have so many different weapons, it’s crazy,” Kansas freshman Tyran Stokes said. “I feel like we are one of the most versatile teams in the country, just because of how much depth we’ve got.”
One of the key pieces of this Kansas team this season is the Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year and No. 1 class of 2026 recruit, Tyran Stokes.
“He is so competitive. He just wants to win at everything,” Kansas freshman Taylen Kinney said. “Literally everything.”
The Jayhawks open the season with an exhibition at Late Night in the Phog Oct. 16 against Pittsburg State. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
