LAWRENCE (KSNT) – The Jayhawks are predicted to make a top-three finish.
Kansas men’s basketball was selected to finish third in the Big 12, the conference announced via its Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
The Jayhawks received 186 points. The Arizona Wildcats were selected to repeat as Big 12 Champions with 220 points and 12 first place votes.
Lawrence is once again home to the conference’s top freshman, according to coaches, as Tyran Stokes was named the Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year. Darryn Peterson received the same honor last season.
Stokes was also named to the All-Big 12 Preseason Team.
The Jayhawks will kick off their season against Fordham on Nov. 2. Tipoff has yet to be announced.
