TOPEKA (KSNT) – Stormont Vail Events Center has a new and improved Nightmare Festival ready to scare locals starting Friday night.
It’s the second annual Nightmare Festival at the events center. Guests can enjoy a cocktail or mocktail while going through the spooky activities they have to offer.
This year, guests can look forward to updated versions of The Nightmare on the Boulevard and Circus of Shadows, as well as two escape rooms on the bus and scare booths.
“We also have what I like to call scare booths where you can pay to go in,” said Adam Jenks, of Jinxed Productions. “There are four buttons and there are cameras at different areas with either air cannons or door knockers, and you can push the button, scare the guests as they go through. Also, have a punch card this year where you can do one of everything and will just punch your card, so you don’t have to carry tokens around.”

Doors to get into the building open at 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 16, but it doesn’t officially start until 7 p.m. Organizers recommend people to come in earlier to avoid long lines.
The Nightmare Festival will be in Topeka from Oct. 16 to Oct. 31. To learn more about this event and how to purchase tickets, head to the Stormont Vail Events Center’s website.
