TOPEKA (KSNT) – Bookworms from all over Kansas gathered at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library for some great deals on their favorite reads.
Doors opened at noon on Oct. 18, and local collectors did not disappoint. Hundreds of people participated in the sale on Sunday afternoon. People had the option of filling a brown grocery bag with books, movies and music, all for just $10 or buy individual books and physical media.
“This makes me really grateful,” said book buyer, Tyler Ramos. “I think the fact that we have such a really beautiful library in Topeka is so cool. I feel like Topeka gets overlooked for a lot of things. So, the fact that we have such a beautiful building already, you know, available to the community and then they do sales like this, it just makes me feel happy.”
Next Saturday, on Oct. 24, library staff will be hosting a free Halloween photo op for infants and kids from 9 a.m. to 11 am. You can find the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library at 1515 SW 10th Ave.
