SILVER LAKE (KSNT) – A special night in Silver Lake.
The Eagles celebrated longtime legendary football coach, CJ Hamilton, as he was honored going into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.
Hamilton had a 447-98 coaching record, and his legacy at Silver Lake reaches far beyond the scoreboard.
‘I thank the fans, the players and this awesome community,” Hamilton said. “Without you, none of this would be possible. Go Lake.”
Mitch Holthus, the voice of the Kansas City Chiefs, helped honor Hamilton.
“He’s the most successful high school football coach in Kansas State history,” Holthus said. “He built a championship program, but he also built championship human beings.”
Silver Lake would beat Osage City on Friday night 42-0.
