ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KSNT) — The Ichabods have made history.
The Washburn men’s cross country team won it’s first-ever MIAA Championship on Saturday.
The Ichabods defeated in-state foe Pittsburg State 51-48, with three runners in the top six and five in the top 20.
Dutch senior Sebastiaan Horselenberg paced the ‘Bods with a time of 24:43.9, good enough for a third place individual finish.
Alongside Horselenberg, Esteban Boisseau and Seaman’s Brody Anderson each took home All-MIAA First Team honors. Lukas Mehl and Topeka West’s Adrian Lehman were both named conference honorable mentions.
Up next for the ‘Bods will be the NCAA Central Regional Championship on Nov. 21 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
