What We’re Tracking
- Chilly morning
- Staying cool Saturday
- Much drier pattern settles in
Cool conditions will linger into today. We’ll start the day partly cloudy before we become mostly sunny by the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the middle to upper 50s. Winds will turn back to the south during the afternoon, marking the beginning of a gradual warm-up.
A warming trend arrives Sunday, with more sunshine and temperatures returning to the 60s. Monday is shaping up to be the warmest day of the week, with highs climbing into the lower 70s under mostly sunny skies.
Beyond Monday, temperatures will level off with morning lows in the 40s and afternoon highs in the 60s.
Much of next week looks mainly dry, which will be welcome news since northeast Kansas is already running above average on rainfall this year. In Topeka, rainfall totals are currently more than five inches above normal, so several dry days will help the region begin to catch up on drying out.
