DOUGLAS COUNTY (KSNT) – A Kansas state trooper pulled over a driver who was running late for religious services last weekend after being spotted driving far above the posted speed limit.
The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) Troop B posted on social media that a trooper spotted an SUV traveling at an unsafe speed the morning of Sunday, July 20 in Douglas County. The trooper reportedly saw the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the rearview mirror before pulling the driver over.
The KHP said the driver was traveling at 111 mph in a 75 mph zone. The driver was allegedly late for church and had a small child inside the vehicle as well.
