TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Fire Department (TFD) helped a person after he was injured due to a lightning strike Monday morning.
City of Topeka spokesman Dan Garrett said the TFD was called around 7 a.m. on July 21 to an area on Lyman Road for reports of an injury due to a lightning strike. A person was injured when lightning hit nearby, but didn’t directly hit the victim.
The TFD provided care before transferring the victim to AMR. Garrett said that initial reports indicate the individual had non-life-threatening injuries.
