BERRYTON (KSNT) – The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is looking for a new home for one of its offices in Shawnee County this year.
The USPS announced on its website that it is searching for a new potential home for its post office located at 7049 Southeast Berryton Road. The Postal Service reports that it is conducting this search “due to space deficiencies” at the building in Berryton.
The USPS said it has yet to locate a suitable place for the relocation of the Berryton post office. It is currently considering the following options:
- Lease an existing building that is around 3,100 square-feet with 17 or more parking spots.
- Buy land of around 36,000 square-feet to build a new post office.
“The relocation project will consist of procuring a suitable substitute location, as close as reasonably possible to the existing location. Retail Services will continue at the current location until all necessary preparations are completed at the new location.”

People are invited to weigh in on this process by sending in comments to United States Postal Service, Attn Berryton KS Relocation, PO BOX 27497, Greensboro, NC 27498-1103. The USPS said people have 30 days to send in comments on this situation.
