TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka police are set to host an upcoming community safety forum at a local community center.
The Topeka Police Department (TPD) announced in a press release on Aug. 11 that it will be hosting the forum in an effort to foster open communication and to share safety information with the community. Police will hold the forum from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 18 at the Hillcrest Community Center located at 1800 Southeast 21st Street.
Topeka residents are encouraged to stop by the forum to learn more about current crime statistics in the city, ongoing initiatives the TPD is pushing to reduce crime and crime prevention tips. Attendees are encouraged to engage in this open discussion with police and express their feelings on current community concerns or pitch ideas.
“This forum is an opportunity for the public and TPD to come together, share information, and build stronger partnerships. We want to be transparent about what’s happening in our city and work collaboratively on solutions.”
