TOPEKA (KSNT) – Washburn University is starting the largest fundraising campaign in the university’s history with the goal of raising over $300 million.
On Tuesday, Washburn University announced in its Fall Kickoff that the university’s Forever Washburn campaign has raised its goal from $250 million to $300 million.
The campaign will focus on:
- Raising $90 million for scholarship opportunities.
- Raising $90 million for teaching and program excellence.
- Raising $30 million for real-world learning and service connections.
- Raising $90 million for buildings and optimizing space.

“Everywhere you look, there are exciting things happening on our campus,” President of Washburn University JuliAnn Mazachek said. “Enrollment numbers have been record-breaking, renovations and new construction are abundant not only on our main campus, but across the entire Topeka community, and our student-athletes have earned their place on the national stage. Our vision for Washburn has allowed for the expansion of learner success opportunities and pathways, and we truly believe we provide the best environment to live, work, and thrive.”
