JUNCTION CITY (KSNT) – Geary County USD 475 Superintendent Reginald Eggleston is continuing to build on the successes of the past.
Geary County schools started on Aug. 11 and Eggleston reports a great turnout with students. The district’s goals for this year include making academics a priority, continuing to make parent engagement a priority and encouraging students to take ownership of their education.
“As we move forward with greater requirements and expectations for students and school districts, we want to meet these expectations,” Eggleston said.
Eggleston said the school district is also continuing the work on the Early Childhood Facility, which they hope to be completed in April 2026. This building will have 32 classrooms, allowing the district to meet some of their growing needs and expands the program tremendously.

“A facility like this is important because it gives us an opportunity to have early intervention with three and four-year-old students,” Eggleston said. “We’re really excited to work with the parents and the students to expose young people to school very early.”
Parents with kids in the district can also use “Parent Square,” which will be the way families can get in-contact with teachers and be involved in their student’s education.
