EMPORIA (KSNT) – Stormont Vail Health announced that it will be making a large charitable donation to the City of Emporia.
On Tuesday, Aug. 2, Stormont Vail Health announced it would donate $1.5 million to support the DeBauge Family Soccer Complex and the Jones Family Aquatic Center. The investment will see improvements to both sites over the next 10 years.
“We believe strong communities are built through strong partnerships, and we’re excited to collaborate with the City of Emporia on a project that will benefit generations to come,” said Mark Slyter, President and Chief Executive Officer of Stormont Vail. “Our support of the DeBauge Family Soccer Complex and Jones Family Aquatic Center reflects our dedication to the health and well-being of the Emporia community. We’re proud to invest in a space that fosters connection, activity, and community pride.”

The combined locations will be named the Stormont Vail Health Sports Park, with the individual locations keeping their respective names.
The Emporia City Commission will consider approval of the contract at its meeting on Sept. 3, 2025.
