TOPEKA (KSNT) – The YWCA of Northeast Kansas is hosting events this week as part of a push to raise awareness about violence in the community.
Cassie Martin with the YWCA of Northeast Kansas joined the 27 News Morning Show on Oct. 20 to talk about the Week Without Violence events. These include the following:
- Monday, Oct. 20 – Maternal Health Monday where health care professionals and supporters wear purple.
- 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 21 – Ichabod’s Speak Out Against Domestic Violence at the Washburn University Memorial Union underground.
- 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22 – Clothesline Project
- Seneca Free Library front lawn located at 606 Main St. in Seneca.
- Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library located at 1515 SW 10th Ave. in Topeka.
- Jackson County Courthouse front lawn located at 400 New York Ave in Holton.
- Brown County Courthouse front lawn located at 601 Oregon in Hiawatha.
- North City Park Shelter located at 425 East Seventh St. in Alma.
- 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23 – presentation at Shawnee County Commission located at 707 SE Quincy St.
- All day on Thursday, Oct. 23 – fillable signs at YWCA Northeast Kansas Office located at 225 SW 12th St. in Topeka.
- 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24 – march and rally at the Kansas Statehouse in Topeka.
- March begins at the statehouse and ends at YWCA Northeast Kansas parking lot at 225 SW 12th St.
- Community lunch at 12:40 p.m. in the YWCA Northeast Kansas parking lot.
