TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Wright Place Residential Facility (WPRF) is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that serves young men who are experiencing significant emotional, behavioral or substance use challenges.
The WPRF opened its doors earlier this month to provide 24/7 comprehensive treatment programs for youth experiencing mental health challenges. Their professionally trained treatment team actively works with families, hospitals, mental health centers and social service agencies to offer strength-based approach to successfully return youth to their home and community.
Here’s how the government shutdown is impacting Kansas farmers
“Some kids need more structure, they need more treatment, and so this is where this facility comes in,” said Mick Patrick with Pathway Family Services. “It’s a short term facility. This is not designed for kids to be here for long periods of time. it’s more like a three to six month period of time.”
WPRF is operated by the Pathway Family Services, an accredited human services nonprofit focused on providing resources for youth and families in Kansas through their Independent Living Program, Teens Reaching Adult Independent Living (TRAIL), Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, Qualified Residential Treatment Program, Lotus House and outpatient services. Its goal is to create a therapeutic environment that prioritizes safety, healing and empowerment.
The WPRF is located at 4101-B SW Martin Drive Topeka, KS 66609.
