TOPEKA (KSNT) – With the government shutdown expected to shut off SNAP benefits on Nov. 1, some Taco John’s locations shared they would offer free meals to anyone in need. We reached out to see if it’s a company-wide commitment.
A Taco John’s spokesperson told 27 News the company will be offering a beef or bean burrito and a serving of Jr. Potato Olés® to anyone affected by the government shutdown from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2. Participants just need to request the “Community Support Special”, no questions asked, no documentation required.
“We’re proud to be giving back to our communities who have supported us since 1969,” said Heather Neary, President & CEO of Taco John’s International. “Our vision is to be the community’s first choice for tacos and burritos, and this effort is a reflection of that commitment.”
New Topeka Panda Express ready to open
The Taco John’s Foundation will also donate to local food banks for every Taco Bravo® sold on Thursday, Nov. 6.
