MANHATTAN (KSNT) – For the fifth-straight season, the K-State Wildcats are going bowling.
The ‘Cats clinched its sixth win of the season over the Colorado Buffaloes, 24-14.
K-State started off hot with a four-yard rushing touchdown from Joe Jackson on its first drive to take a 7-0 lead.
The Buffs attempted a field goal that was blocked by Qua Moss.
Both teams struggled in the second quarter going three and out, turning the ball over on downs, and an interception from Colorado’s Kaidon Salter.
The Buffs eventually got on the board with a one-yard rushing touchdown from Micah Welsh. The game was tied up at 7-7 at the end of the first half.
Jackson would strike again, this time late in the third, with a one-yard rush to retake the lead, 14-7.
In the fourth, Luis Rodriguez would make the 35-yard field goal attempt on the ‘Cats next drive, increasing the lead to 17-7.
Colorado answered back with another one-yard rushing touchdown from Welsh, to make things 17-14.
Jackson would wrap up a stellar performance with his third touchdown of the day, this time for 17-yards, to seal the ‘Cats 24-14 victory.
Joe Jackson rushed for 142 yards across 26 carries, with three touchdowns.
The ‘Cats finish the regular season 6-6, and now await its fate for bowl selection.
