TOPEKA (KSNT) – Monday’s first snowfall of December in Kansas brought back a fun winter activity for local sledding enthusiasts and children..
Families were out sledding at the hill in south Topeka’s Quinton Heights neighborhood. The area is known for its steep hill and fast sledding speeds. Some sledders even made a ramp to add to the action. 27 News Talked to a few kids about their day in the snow.
“We just got off school, and it was snowing this morning, so our parents had the idea for us to go sledding,” said Jaxxon Ortiz, sledder. “It’s been pretty cool I jumped the hill over there.”

“I love sledding and I hit the ramp over there and I was the first one that did it and it was so fun,” said Luna Bray, sledder. “When you go down you start getting faster each time you go down.”
Our Storm Track Weather team says the snow could stay on the hill for a few days if you’d like to go get in some sledding.
