EMPORIA (KSNT) – Emporia’s 47th Annual Christmas parade kicks off the town’s holiday season.
A lighting ceremony kicked the night off. After that, the parade marched down Commercial Street with over 80 floats, bands, and community organizations. Our own 27 News Stormer Tracker made an appearance, as well as 27 News Anchor David George and Chief Meteorologist Matt Miller. The Chamber of Commerce says their goal is to provide holiday cheer because of the stress this time of the year can cause.

“The community’s just been down in general so we’re trying to do everything we can to really uplift for the holiday season, make sure people are smiling and having a good time, just creating that holiday cheer for everyone,” said Christian Keisler, Emporia Chamber of Commerce.
You can catch our 27 News team in more Christmas parade this week. They’ll march in Manhattan on Friday, and come back to Topeka this Saturday.
