TOPEKA (KSNT) – A local bakery is hard at work to help the state celebrate its birthday.
The Topeka Dillons at 5311 SW 22nd is making the cake for tomorrow’s celebration at the Kansas Statehouse for Kansas Day. The theme is inspired by America’s 250th anniversary and the cake has a map of all of the United States, a bald eagle and the Kansas flag.
“So I’m a lifetime Kansan, and I think it’s just really cool to be able to help the state celebrate its birthday and to just be a part of that and to have this skill and be able to use it for the state of Kansas. And I just think it’s cool,” said Richinda Brower, bakery manager.
Dillons has been creating cakes for the state celebration since 2004.
Why didn’t the city clear all streets in Topeka after the Saturday snow storm?
