TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka City Councilwoman Karen Hiller joined the 27 News Morning Show on Thursday to chat about the city’s budget process and new apartments in the downtown area.
Hiller, who represents District 1 for the City of Topeka, touched on recent leadership changes on the council such as the arrival of Murray McGee in District 8. She also talked about a new $50 million apartment complex, which has gone under the title of “Project View” for the past several years, that is coming to downtown Topeka.
“It’s the second of our developments for downtown,” Hiller said. “So, we’ve already got Union at Tower coming in with 230 quote ‘affordable units.’ Project View, if you think about the map of downtown, is a block off Kansas Avenue, it will pretty much fill the block between Sixth and Seventh and Van Buren and Jackson with 192 high-end market rate [apartments].”
